In my view, the Prime Minister’s website holds a crucial role both nationally and internationally. It serves as a vital source of official press releases and communications for many, including those in and outside the media, accessible via PM.GC.CA. Back in 2017, when I first started brainstorming ideas for the website’s enhancement, my objective was to rejuvenate its appearance while preserving the official and governmental aesthetics. During this creative process, I drew inspiration from Microsoft’s design language, specifically the Windows 8 Metro and Windows 10 Live Tiles, to present information in an engaging way.
However, I continually found myself unsatisfied with the design, prompting me to iterate and refine it over time. Due to various other commitments and projects, I, unfortunately, couldn’t see this project through to completion. Nevertheless, I have recently rediscovered my passion for this project using modern tools and ideas.

Plug Attire was a merch campaign project created in 2017. My task in this project was to come up with various concepts of an e-commerce web platform where we could showcase and sell merch.

The design for Plug Attire needed to be modern, clean and simple. For this project we used WordPress and a custom theme designed and developed by me.
I wanted the site to communicate the love for the brand to the user. To achieve this, we came up with ideas to introduce non-invasive call to action modules where we could put out a message for the user to read. These would take you either to a blog post or the desired page.

One of our biggest inspirations for this project was the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We wanted to showcase the beauty and culture of the province with the products.

I usually like to warm up my creativity early in the morning by brainstorming and translating those ideas into concepts. My goal here was to create a simple, clean and modern looking log in portal.

The CNN UI challenge was a quite fun exercise for me. The task was simple, to redesign the search results using a bold and different layout, a simple to use news content filtering system and new fonts.

outHSTL was a fun little project to work on. The mission was to create a product page to showcase and hype the fitness supplement product. I also designed few concepts for a store front where users could learn key facts about the product and as well, pre-order.

As a public transport user, one of my biggest frustrations was having to line up at the Metro station or at a store to top up my Opus card. When the STM launched their online service, it launched with so many issues. In order to charge your card, you have to:
– Buy a special device
– Connect such special device and download Net Framework, Java and other MS libraries
– Connect this device and grant permission while it checks your card online
This process never worked correctly, it often crashed or failed to scan the card. So, one day I started brainstorming ideas and came up with these concepts. The main focus was to make it easier to top up a card, something that shouldn’t take more than five minutes.
In the coming weeks I will post a blog post braking through my ideas on how the STM could benefit from making a unique system ID for each of their cards.

With such system in place, it will open a door to endless possibilities on the web and mobile. Making the experience accessible to everyone.
